Effective 18 September 2026. Applies to the Fishing Spot Finder app for iPhone and Apple Watch, published by MR SOFT IT.

The short version

We do not collect, store or share any personal data. The app has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party SDKs.

Location

If you allow it, the app reads your location on the device to sort fishing spots by distance and to pick the nearest station. Your location is never stored, never sent to us, and never sent to any other party. You can deny location and search for spots by name instead.

Data requests to NOAA

To show tides and conditions, the app requests data from the public NOAA CO-OPS service (tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov) operated by the US government. These requests contain the station ID and the date range, plus the app identifier "MRSOFTIT_FishingSpotFinder" that NOAA asks every client to send. They do not contain your location or any information about you. NOAA's own privacy policy applies to its servers.

Purchases

Pro subscriptions and the Lifetime purchase are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your name, payment details or Apple Account. Apple's privacy policy applies to the transaction.

Notifications

Tide alerts are scheduled on your device. No push server is involved, and no data leaves the device to deliver them.

Data stored on your device

The app saves your chosen spots, settings and the last downloaded tide data on your iPhone and, if you use it, your Apple Watch. This data stays on your devices and is removed when you delete the app.

Children

The app is rated 4+ and collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
