Common questions

My town is not in the list

The app uses NOAA stations, which exist only on US coasts, the Great Lakes are not included. Pick the nearest station on the map. Tides at nearby spots differ by minutes, not hours.

Live water temperature or wind says "no sensor"

Only NOAA reference stations have live sensors. For other stations the app shows the nearest reference station's readings and says so on the card.

The rating says Slack but I caught fish

The rating is an estimate from tide flow, wind and daylight. Fish do not read it. Use it as a planning aid, not a promise.

The widget shows "open to set up"

Open the app once and pick a spot. The widget and the Apple Watch app use the spot you choose on the iPhone.

Tide alerts do not arrive

Alerts are a Pro feature. Check that notifications for Fishing Spot Finder are on in the iPhone Settings app, and that the alert is enabled for the spot in the app's Settings tab.

I bought Pro on another iPhone

Open the app, go to Settings, tap Restore Purchases. You must be signed in with the same Apple Account you used to buy.

How do I cancel the subscription?

Open the iPhone Settings app, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose Fishing Spot Finder and tap Cancel. You keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for. The Lifetime purchase never renews, so there is nothing to cancel.

Refunds

Apple handles all payments and refunds. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and choose the purchase.

Does the app track me?

No. There are no accounts, no analytics and no third-party code. Location is used on the device only to sort spots by distance. See the Privacy Policy.
