Common questions

The map shows no chargers

Check that the app has an internet connection and that your battery slider is not at a very low value. Widen the search by raising the battery percent or turning off the Free-only filter. If the area really has no chargers in the open data, the list stays empty.

A charger is listed but it did not work

Status comes from the Open Charge Map community and can be out of date. Tap "Could not charge" on the station page so you remember next time, and report it on openchargemap.org so others benefit too.

The range looks wrong for my car

The estimate uses the rated range of the model you picked, your battery percent, the live temperature and a road factor. Real range depends on speed, load and driving style. Pick the exact model and year in Settings, and use Highway mode on fast roads.

My car is not in the list

The catalog has 1,280 models from Open EV Data. Pick the closest model with the same battery size, or email us the model and we will add it.

Cost says "not listed"

The app shows a price only when the community has recorded one. It never guesses. Check the operator's app or the station display for the current tariff.

The widget shows "open to set up"

Open the app once and let it load chargers. The widget uses the last result from the app.

Which region is used for plugs?

The app picks North America or Europe from your location the first time it loads chargers. You can change the region any time in Settings.

Does the app track me?

No. There are no accounts, no analytics and no third-party code. Your location is used only to request nearby chargers and weather from open data services. See the Privacy Policy.
